In the drive to acquire more authentic Filipino recordings from the 1980s up to the 2000s, NSFU Records partnered with Manila-based Indira Records Digital Distribution Service to sign over 100 tracks of archival music from some of the most significant independent bands of the era covering various genres, including punk, SKA, Reggae, New Wave, Electronic, Pop, Hip-Hop, and more.
The catalog was personally curated by IndiRa Records owner Rhany Torres, whose bands, The Lost Boys, Ethnic Faces, and Brownbeat Allstars were stalwarts in the Filipino indie music scene for decades.
Some of the notable bands that IndiRa Records brought to the NSFU catalog include:
Urban Bandits
Nuklus
Basic Cycle
Bad Omen
Plaster of Paris
Neighbors
The music is now available for licensing, and there are plans to release physical compilation albums from this treasure trove of materials, so stay tuned!
